Since 2013, the choir, usually about 20 -30 members, has made such visits to churches all over Devon.

SPRrrrrrING INTO SUMMER!

The Devon Choir directed by Bob Barsby is teaming up again with Words for Voices, four well-known local actors, to present “SPRrrrING INTO SUMMER” –  an eclectic mix of words and choral singing guaranteed to put a spring in the step and a sunny smile on the face.

The concert will be full of delightful, humorous, nostalgic and dramatic readings from ‘W4V’, including pieces by Dylan Thomas, William Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde and Noel Coward plus of course their well-established extracts from “The Wind in the Willows” and “The Famous Five”.

The choir will sing music in contrasting styles and moods, madrigals, part-songs (Elgar, Stanford, Whitacre) and arrangements of well-loved favourites, “Summer Nights” (Grease), “Spread a little happiness”, “A nightingale sang in Berkeley Square, “Somewhere over the Rainbow, “Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside” and much more!

Jars of Change

Wednesday 6th March onwards
Lent Appeal: JARS OF CHANGE
Join WaterAid‘s Jars of Change project: Give up something for Lent, however small, & donate the money you save to give clean water to communities for the very first time. A packet of biscuits for £1 will buy a water tap in Malawi. A packet of crisps at £1.50 a day amounts to £60 over Lent, enabling nearly 1 km of water pipes to be dug & laid.
How easy is that? • Let’s get going!

If you are organising any events, or are in touch with anyone who is, please contact Julian Hall as early as possible.
