St John’s Church, Bridgetown, will be closing for repairs and refurbishment for about three months as from the beginning of June, with the last services there being on Sunday, 3rd June. After that date, the Sunday service normally held at St John’s at 9.30 am will be held in St Mary’s Church, Totnes, at 9.15 am, followed by coffee in St Mary’s Church Hall. This may cause a little disruption and necessitate some compromise, but we hope we can all work together in harmony to ensure that everything runs smoothly. The Wednesday Community Café will move to the Totnes Boating Association during this period, and other users of St John’s have also all been notified individually.

The 1st half of the concert comprises ‘Elizabethan’ madrigals from the Tudor and early Stuart period by Byrd, Morley, Weelkes and others, while the 2nd half features the C19th revival beginning with Robert Pearsall and ending with Parry, Elgar and Stanford. They will all be sung unaccompanied.
