news + updates for early June

THERE ARE SEVERAL UNIQUE EVENTS coming up later this month and also in July – note that some have updated information. Choose from floral tributes with vintage tea, a colourful talk with the charismatic Ann Widdecombe, classical and choral concerts (including Evensong with St Mary’s own choir, next Sunday).
Beetroot will be sharing food and stories again at the end of this month, and then in early July there’s a Christian Festival on Vire Island offering “food, drink, music, messages, exhibitions and fun“.
ALSO IN EARLY JULY is the Deanery Confirmation at Marldon Church. And speaking of clerical events, last month we posted a photograph of the installation as Prebendaries of Reverend Cate Edmonds and Reverend Julian Ould; we now have two more photographs from the event, see below, along with a photograph taken at another event, which commemorated 10 years of service by Julian and likewise by Team Reader Liz Waterson. See below for more about everything…
SOME EVENTS HAVE POSTERS to download and print – if you can do so and display them, it really helps increase attendance and awareness of what’s going on!

Liz’s Community News rounds off this post with, amongst other things, some requests for help, feedback from fundraising, a date change for one of the House Groups, a contents list of the June parish newsletter (now online), plus at-a-glance reminders of ways to get involved with things and where to find essential information.
• Many thanks as always to everyone who has sent us information and images.

BISHOP ROBERT installed two new Prebendaries at Exeter Cathedral last month. They are Reverend Cate Edmonds, vicar of Escot, Feniton & Payhembury and Exeter Diocesan Adviser for Education Chaplaincy and Reverend Julian C Ould, Team Rector of the Totnes Mission Community.
