July updates & announcements

Great to see so many people enjoying the Summer Fete at St Mary’s in the sunshine (Saturday 3rd August). Photos from the Fete will be posted here sometime soon.

This month’s issue has grown to 8 pages, with articles by the Rev’d Julian C Ould, the Rev’d Cliff Berdinner, Chris Grimshaw, Paul Hardingham and Canon David Winter.

PAGE CHANGES: Groups, meetings, lunches, drop-ins and personal support services are now on the Community page. There is now a new page, Group Tours of St Mary’s Church, listed under The Churches.

One day during June, this website had its 1,000th visitor, and we have now received well over 1,300 visits. Many thanks to all who have visited the website since we launched in early April, and to those who have contributed news and information. We welcome feedback and ideas! Also welcome are photos, reviews, reports and your thoughts.

malleticiousThe recent Friends of St. Mary’s Coffee Concert conducted by Bob Barsby and featuring Malleticious (marimba players Molly Lopresti and Harriet Riley) raised £510 gross and over £430 net. A truly memorable event.

DonHalsteadwalkFollowing up on our earlier announcement, below, warmest congratulations to Don Halstead, who raised a magnificent £840 on his sponsored walk in aid of the Stroke Association. A big thank-you to all who contributed.

Connie Hopwood is heading for the Worcestershire hills! Connie is busy preparing for her move in August to Malvern where she has bought a brand-new retirement apartment in the town.

Connie has been a prominent member of several organisations in Totnes in the decades that she has lived here, but for the people at St Mary’s Church she will always be especially remembered for her inspirational leadership at our wonderful flower festivals.

Thank you, Connnie, for all you have done for us. We will miss you. We wish you love and best wishes in your new home. Be sure to keep in touch!
